Quick Music Rant. Why must people always refer to the song as Teenage Wasteland? Yeah, he does repeat it a bunch, but that doesn’t make it the title of the song. Not every song on the planet uses it’s title in the song. Get used to it, it’s not some secret formula that bands use and if they don’t they’re not trying to fuck with you.

It amazes me how the internet has allowed many future guitarist, with almost no talent, the ability to upload their take on Metallica’s Enter Sandman. But between the tards that infiltrate YouTube and Google Video, there’s always the amateurs that rise above. And there’s always the good old amazing guitarists that you wish to become. I can’t do anything musically because aparently my brain can’t interprete music properly.

There aren’t many albums that come out every year that I just want to listen to non-stop without caring about which songs suck. It’s even more rare for me to love an album in it’s entirety. I think I can group Panic! At the Disco in the latter category. I know most people will say things like, they suck or emo garbage, but really, I think they’re pretty good. Catchy rhythms, great lyrics and 11 songs (13-2 fillers) that just seems to flow so well.

I’ve always, always approached music by at least giving the band a fair shot and one listen. Many bands other people consider great just don’t appeal to me. And I try my hardest not to throw my opinions on others, although that’s pretty much what all forms of entertainment are, one persons opinions and translations. I just wish more people have a more objective approach to entertainment.

Girlz Garage Tour

So I went up to Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon to see the Girlz Garage Tour. It was at the Cotton Club in Atlanta, which is under the Tabernacle, another venue. We arrived late I think and missed the 3 girl rap group, I am sad. We watched some group play, do not remember their name. Then Lillax, yes, those girls, then The Start and Lennon, who we actually came to see. My friend who adores her got front row center and took a bunch of pics of her as well as one with her after her set and also got his t-shirts signed.

Later we went to Duprees for some poooooool. I sucked so bad that I shouldn’t have kept playing. Scott and myself lost all but like 3 games to Jim and Shane. We left around 3 to eat some Waffle House in good ol ATL. Whole time Shane was drunk, he didnt even come inside with us. Went to sleep around 4 got up and went to Fellini’s, mmmm pizza, and eventually drove back down and then I watched the first 4 episodes of 24. Damn, it’s so good, I need the rest of Season 1 and all of Season 2

Just got back from X2, very good stuff. Too many nerds for my taste though, yes I know you could call me one, but I never read the comics, and I didn’t talk throughout the whole movie, and I didn’t stay behind with my 20 other nerd friends and discuss about what happened in the comics, what happened in the movie, and what is going to happen in the next movie. I wanted to sleep. So here I go, night.

So yesterday I finally got around to watching Amelie, great movie, great story, great message. At the end of the movie I realized that I never took the chances to make things happen, I sort of sat back and let things (hopefully) come to me. Just like Amelie the character, I am a very introverted person, more so right now than ever, but I really should be doing something about it, like going out. It just made me sad to think I’ve wasted so much time, then listening to GY!BE there’s this one section of Antennas to Heaven that is just amazingly beautiful. So after listening to that as well, I felt really down. I also shut down my website, I got sick of doing alot of work for nothing, that and no one bothered to help me with content. Also, my friends don’t call me at all to do anything, I just sit around. I never like calling people and bothering them that we need to do something, they should know we need to do something on weekends. *sigh* I dunno anymore. I got asked again today what I’m gonna do after college, TWICE. I dunno. I know I don’t like computers enough anymore after being around nimwits, one of my former best friends included in this list of nimwits. I’m thinking video or audio production at SCAD. I just don’t know what to do for grad school or where to go.

In other none depressing news, I’ve been thinking of buying pieces of recording equipment here and there. I need a box to hook up to my pc, through a card or usb. the DigiDesign MBox is like $500 :/ Supposedly there’s a ProTools pack with the MBox for $495, that’d be killer sweet. I found a 4 mono 2 stereo mixer board for like $200. That should get me started. And drum micing kits are like $200-500 for a whole set, but I might have to buy 1 more to mic my floor tom. Then, if I ever wanted vocals, I need a friggin Mic + Mic Pre-Amp + Compressor. Sheesh. That gets pretty expensive. Plus I don’t have the acoustics in my room to do such a thing. I guess I will keep dreaming about having a small home studio :/

I also need to start working on some art or something or play more video games :/
