Now, I didn’t watch the State of the Union, in fact, I never have. I feel it’s one of those things not really needed in this information age, but people still view it as a tradition. Whatever.
So, I’m browsing through sites and my Twitter feed and I run across this blog post, Dear Obama: I have ten questions about your speech. Now, I could care less what Obama has to say because it’s all useful bullshit spewed forth for his Obamabots to eat up and regurgitate without bothering to do any form of research. But, I stumbled upon something he said in the post that made me pretty furious.
9. In order to save our children from a future of debt, we will also end the tax breaks for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans. (Applause.) Now, let me be clear let me be absolutely clear, because I know you’ll end up hearing some of the same claims that rolling back these tax breaks means a massive tax increase on the American people: If your family earns less than $250,000 a year ” a quarter million dollars a year” you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: Not one single dime. (Applause.)
That first line about saving our children from debt is such BULLSHIT. Within the first month of office he pushed the biggest spending bill on Congress and some of those Congress memebers didn’t even bother reading the bill. I mean, at 600+ pages, why read it when your Messiah tells you it’s what we need to save our economy and country? If you don’t support him your’e the enemy is pretty much what’s been drilling into our heads for the past month.
So, $1 trillion dollars (with interest) is not going to be passed down to our children? It will be, it always is. Now add $400+ billion in the omnibus spending bill and we’ll call it $1.6 trillion (with interest). We’re borrowing this money and it’s not free. What are the American people thinking? How can anyone think this is a good idea? This is going to set US, our CHILDREN and our CHILDREN’s CHILDREN up for some debt for a long long time. It’s a damn shame people think this is what we need and make fun of people who think otherwise.
These tax increases on the wealthy will only end up hurting the poor. It’s simple economics people. The wealthy are the ones giving out the jobs, without that extra income, they have to cut back, and cut back they will. So when this increase falls flat on it’s back, they’ll have to increase taxes on those under $250,000. Trust me, it will happen. Blaming this situation on the Bush tax cuts is just crazy. This all started before Bush was in office. He even tried to fix it before his 2nd term was up, but the Democrat controlled Congress would have nothing to do with it. So blame yourselfs, not Bush.
It’s a damn shame our country will take what a Democrat president says at face value, but will destroy anything that a Republican says, even when it’s the honest truth.
