How great would it be to meet someone at a wedding. I’ve only had one opportunity so far to do so at the moment, but I look forward to more, but it seems everyone I know is married. There’s always been this thing about people hooking up at a wedding, but for some reason I never go in thinking anything about it, because I know it’s a fling and I really can’t have them. I just need a little more substance to my relationship than some one night stand. Buttercup states that the romantic moments experienced at a wedding are great, but not real and refers to them as wedding goggles.
She lays down a few ground rules as well as to how they will keep the night as a memory, but the title of the episode really is the clincher here for me to talk about. She states the drum roll leading up to the kiss is the best part. If you really think about it, you can apply this to relationships. There’s always an aura of uncertainty when you’re dating. Whether or not there’s going to be that kiss at the end of the date, or if you’re going to lean in and do it or is she going to take control and do it herself. That alone is worthy of a drum roll. You’re waiting and waiting and trying to figure out if you’ll get that kiss and how you’ll do it. The lead up to it just kills you and when it finally it happens, it’s like the band is going off and laying down this crazy thick beat just for you. After that, there’s no greater drum roll to look forward to.
I’d like to say I was constantly chasing drum roll after drum roll, but sadly I’m not. I’m sure there are people out there that fuel on the adrenaline of that build up, I’d love to be one of them.
