Video Blog/Youtube

I read somewhere posing the question was the internet ready for user submitted content? I believe if we’re talking about something like digg or the billions of other knocks offs, it’s fine, although I still have beef with them, but as for video content, I don’t think the world is ready for it.

I’d bet the farm (which I don’t own) that about 99.999999999% of all user generated video content, is some form of video blog. Scratch that, make it 95%, because there’s some good home made videos out there, and no I’m not talking about Youporn or Redtube. Most of these people probably feel empowered to be putting their opinions/beliefs out there with a face attached to it, like it somehow makes it better than a blog. At least with a blog I can pretend people have a ridiculous voice, now I actually have to listen to it. I mean, do people really want that much attention that they will post some stupid video on youtube, hoping for a celeb like feel, ala lonelygirl, whom I might add, is stupid as well.

I just don’t see the need for people who want to pretend like their opinions matter so much they need a video to convey it. With words I can skim and get the general idea, with video I have to sit through the boring ass rant just to get to the point.

So, let’s get rid of all that video blogs, or at least move them somewhere else so they’re not always on every page. Seriously, I go to watch a video and there’s the talking heads on the right and I just wish I could send a punch to their face over the net, can someone please invent this? There’s some bitches I need to punch in the face.

oh my gosh!! i absolutely hate longelygirl15!!! i’m so glad that whole thing turned out to be a “scam” so people could stop caring about her. i think people should actually right something decent in their blogs before they attempt to produce a video blog. i swear, like 98% of all the blogs in the blogosphere are duplicates of each other–all they ever talk about are current events, war, oil, celebs, etc. at least your blog talks about random shit that goes on in your life–an aspect of blogging i’ve yet to find in the interwebs.

i’m still kind of unsure if i really like podcasts. i think i enjoy reading better. after all, it’s search-able, i don’t have to listen to anything, and i don’t have to wait for it to “download” before i can begin enjoying it. i mean, i can’t really fast forward through a podcast b/c i’ll end up skipping something i might actually enjoy. at least with a regular blog, i can skim the parts i don’t want to read until i find the section that interests me.

podcasts are always hit and miss. but so far I’ve found a few i enjoy on a regular basis, and they are the 1UP Yours podcast, talks about gaming and gaming new, which is a great summary for a week since it’s released on a friday/saturday schedule and then there’s always Keith and the Girl. A couple from New York City that talks about random shit in their lives and things that are happening. It’s a daily podcast. It might not seem interesting, but I ALWAYS find myself laughing at these two and the guests that come on the show. for such a random podcast, it’s very enjoyable
