It’s a pretty sad state of affairs when I’d rather watch Hackers instead of the Superbowl. It just happened to be on towards the end and I wanted to catch it so I tuned in. I always laughed on how they portrayed hacking into a system, a virtual flight into big buildings that housed files. I mean, conseptually, makes sense, but in reality, it looks pretty stupid. I mean, there’s things they get right, but other things always bugged me. Like, how they were searching for passwords into the system, and they seemed to use the password GOD again, even after it was hacked into. It’s like they wanted to get hacked into again, because some dweeb named Joey guessed GOD as a password and they logged in again as it. Because at the start of the hacking the gibson scene, 3 characters are plugged in and they move into the system. They never said they found a password even after dumpster diving and keyboard snooping.God, that movie is such trash, give me Sneakers anyday.

my favorite technical theme in movies is when someone is typing on a computer and the keyboard/computer is always making the beeps. it’s like every single freakin keystroke results in a beep or noise or something. plus, in movies, they have a database that is capable of searching for everything…from neighbors to string. just too unreal but funny nonetheless.
