Keep your mouth shut

It always amazed me how much people liked to talk about what they do for a living about in class. Say you’re in a programming class and you already know the language, wouldn’t it be wise to shut up and take the easy grade and not deal with having to help more than half the class? If I know something more advanced than what’s in an intro level class, I normally keep to myself because I don’t want to be wasting time trying to help people grasp the concept of increment and decrement before or after the variable. You’re just confusing them more. This happened once and I felt sorry for the guy that knew how to program while everyone but him, me and another person knew what they were doing. He took on all of the people because he openly proclaimed he worked with the language. Now he was forever known as the guy who knows this stuff, lets harrass him. It’s not that I hate helping people, I just hate having to help most of the class when there’s a teacher for that.
